On November 10, 2023, Professor Dr. Osvaldo Nascimento, neurologist, took office as Chair 9 of the National Academy of Medicine (ANM), at the headquarters of this prestigious institution in Rio de Janeiro.
The photograph shows the New Academic Prof. Dr. Osvaldo and his wife receiving compliments from Renata Nunes, his patient, and her husband Márcio Galvão, a volunteer at Abahe (Brazilian Association of Hereditary and Acquired Ataxias).
Prof. Dr. Osvaldo reported that he intends to develop actions at the ANM aimed at rare diseases, including ataxias.
