ABAHE (Brazilian Association of Hereditary and Acquired Ataxias) participated in the self-organized activity D-20 (Disability 20), which addresses Perspectives on Inclusion and Participation of Persons with Disabilities. The objective is to leverage the participation of persons with disabilities in the G20 and other spheres of global governance, as part of the programming of the G20 Social Summit , held from November 14 to 16 in Rio de Janeiro, preceding the meeting of leaders of the world's largest economies (G20), which takes place on the 18th and 19th.
The D-20 moderator for this meeting was Dr. Vanessa Romanelli (a wheelchair user and patient with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), a biologist with a PhD in genetics. Several experts and activists for the rights of people with rare diseases rounded out the panel, all involved in advocating for the interests of people with disabilities.

The D20 aims to influence various working groups and mobilize people with disabilities, leaders, and movements to advance the disability agenda worldwide. The project will generate a document with demands and priorities, which will be formally presented to heads of state during the G-20 International Forum in Rio de Janeiro.
